Product Overview

Sermorelin acetate is the acetate salt of sermorelin, a synthetic 29-amino-acid peptide corresponding to the biologically active N-terminal fragment of endogenous growth-hormone-releasing hormone, GHRH(1-29). It is characterized in the literature as a GHRH analog that acts as an agonist at the growth-hormone-releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) expressed on pituitary somatotrophs. In research settings, sermorelin is used as a reference compound for studies of GHRH-receptor pharmacology and somatotropic-axis signaling. This material is supplied strictly as a research chemical for in vitro and preclinical laboratory investigation by qualified professionals working in appropriately controlled environments. Not for human or animal use. Research laboratory use only.

All compounds referenced are supplied for laboratory and research applications only and are not for human consumption.

Sermorelin corresponds to GHRH(1-29)-NH2, the shortest N-terminal sequence of human growth-hormone-releasing hormone that retains full activity at the GHRH receptor. Its molecular target, the GHRH receptor, is a pituitary-specific G protein–coupled receptor whose cloning and characterization established the receptor basis for GHRH and GHRH(1-29) signaling in somatotrophs.1

In laboratory settings, sermorelin is used as a reference ligand for structure–activity work on the GHRH receptor: comparing the 29-residue fragment with full-length GHRH(1-44) and stabilized analogs in receptor-binding, cAMP-accumulation and peptide-stability assays.

Not for human or animal use. Research laboratory use only.
